Pattern file checker

Free · runs in your browser

Drop in a PDF pattern, yours or one you're testing, and see its page sizes, whether each size is its own layer, and whether it asks printers to print at actual size. Your browser reads the file; it's never uploaded.

What it looks for

Layers: PDF optional content groups, which viewers show as a layers panel. One per size lets sewists print only theirs.

Print scaling: a setting in the file that asks the print dialog not to use Fit to page, the most common reason a pattern prints at the wrong size.

Page sizes: A4, US Letter, A0 and 36 × 48 in are recognised by name.
