Every format your customers ask for
Home printing, copyshop and projector, from one master file, all at true size. Drawn to scale on the right: that little corner is a sheet of A4.
Tiled A4, A3, Letter & Legal

The format most sewists print first. Page one carries the test square, how to print, and a map of every tile, so taping up is a jigsaw with the picture on the box.
- Paper
- A4, A3, US Letter (8.5 × 11 in) and US Legal (8.5 × 14 in)
- Print chart
- Which pages each size needs, on the cover
- Overlap
- 10 mm, with chalk alignment diamonds on shared edges
- Labels
- Tile IDs A1, A2… on every page
- Blank tiles
- Skipped, and marked on the map
- Cover
- Test square, print settings, assembly map

A0, 36 × 48 & 24 × 36 in

For sewists who'd rather pay a print shop than tape 40 pages. Each sheet is the real paper size, laid out in whichever direction needs fewer sheets.
- Paper
- ISO A0, Arch E (36 × 48 in) and Arch D (24 × 36 in)
- Black sheets
- Optional: sizes told apart by dash, cheaper to print
- Layout
- Turned to use the fewest sheets
- Layers
- Every size its own layer, so shops print only one
- Scale
- Print scaling off in the file

One wide page

Projector sewing is growing fast and sewists ask for these files by name. Lines are heavier so they read on fabric, with calibration marks to line the image up.
- Page
- A0 landscape or wider, one page
- Lines
- 4 pt by default, including inside nested art
- Dark fabric
- A second file with light lines on black
- Layers
- Top-level only, never locked, so projector apps read them
- Calibration
- Rulers, a 5 cm grid and a 60 × 40 cm box, each a layer

The details sewists notice
Whichever format they choose, the same care is in every file.

Each size is a PDF layer, toggleable in Acrobat Reader and projector apps.
100 mm, measured by two PDF engines before the file reaches you.
Printed on every page, so you know which release a customer has.
The file asks printers not to shrink it to fit the page.
Optional: every paper size again with one size and only its pages, for copyshops and viewers without layers.
Optional: a colour-blind-safe colour and a dash per size, with a key on every page.
Print-only files, with layers still switchable.
A picture of every file, and one download for everything.
